Sometimes in 2019, our community Jenta and other environs in Jos North began to experience intense cultist activities. There has been several attacks, evening raids, and many community members have been "collated". Gun shots have become major elements in the community,business activities have been affected and more tragic, we have lost many lives.
There are many circumstances that led to the present predicament. A first step we are taking is educating school students who are still in the process of taking decisions about their future.
They need to know, and they will know, that they are citizens of the world, and life holds more than just what they've seen in their communities. When people understand their place in the world, they are most likely to take responsible role in their communities as they grow. All these students have seen the negative consequences of Cultism and drug abuse, what they need is another alternative. They'll see that the other alternative lies in the education they are receiving in their schools.
It was Kofi Annan who said "Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family."
